Description
Magpul took the parts that made the PRS Gen3 a favorite among precision shooters and put them on a diet. The PRS Lite keeps the serious adjustability and the fixed-stock rigidity you want when squeezing off tight groups, but it trims roughly 10 ounces of weight and comes in at right around 18.7 ounces. That difference adds up fast when you're packing a rifle across a field course or hauling it up a hill to a distant target.
This stock is built to run on Mil-Spec carbine, collapsible SR25, and A5 receiver extension tubes, so it works for both .223/5.56 and .308 receiver-pattern rifles. The rugged polymer-and-metal construction is made to shrug off heavy recoil and rough handling, which is exactly what you want on an AR-10 chambered in .308.
Dialing In the PRS Lite to Your Body
Getting a consistent cheek weld and proper eye relief is what separates a good day at the range from a frustrating one. The PRS Lite gives you 1.4 inches of length-of-pull adjustment across 10 increments and 0.8 inches of comb height in 8 increments, all locked down with hex wrenches so nothing walks on you under recoil. The low-profile rubber butt-pad adjusts for both height and cant, giving you a stable, non-slip shoulder interface that stays put shot after shot.
Shooting Bag Friendly Design
The bottom of the PRS Lite is shaped to ride a rear bag or a flatter shooting surface, and the front edge is contoured so your support hand can push the rifle back into your shoulder for a locked-in position. It's a thoughtful setup for prone and bench work.
Sling Options on the PRS Lite
Magpul didn't skimp on sling mounting either. You get a reversible, rotation-limited QD cup, an ambidextrous 1.25-inch footman's loop, and a rear QD socket knockout boss if you want to add another QD cup. Made in the USA, the PRS Lite fits standard USGI-style receiver end plates.

Frequently Asked Questions
What buffer tubes does the Magpul PRS Lite fit?
The PRS Lite is built to run on Mil-Spec carbine, collapsible SR25, and A5 receiver extension tubes. It works on both .223/5.56 and .308 receiver-pattern rifles. Keep in mind it's designed for USGI-style receiver end plates, so it won't work with aftermarket sling mount plates or rifle/A1 length extensions.
How is the PRS Lite different from the PRS Gen3?
The PRS Lite keeps the same core comb height and length-of-pull adjustability that made the Gen3 popular, but it drops roughly 10 ounces of weight, landing around 18.7 ounces. It also comes in at a lower price point. If you want that precision-stock feel without the extra heft, the Lite is the move.
Do I need tools to adjust the PRS Lite?
Yes. The length of pull and comb height adjustments lock down with hex wrenches rather than tool-less levers. That's actually a plus for precision use since the settings stay rock solid under recoil and won't drift once you have them dialed in for your build.
Is the PRS Lite good for shooting off a bag?
It is. The bottom of the stock is shaped to ride a rear bag or a flat surface, and the front edge is contoured so your support hand can pull the rifle back into your shoulder. Combined with the adjustable rubber butt-pad, it gives you a stable, repeatable prone or bench position.
