Description
The Magpul PRO 700 is a drop-in chassis that takes a factory or custom Remington 700 short action and turns it into a purpose-built precision platform. It starts with a fully machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum V-bedding block and forend finished in Type III hard anodizing, then wraps it in Magpul's polymer for a comfortable grip surface, some sound dampening, and protection from the elements. The barrel free-floats, which is exactly what you want when you're chasing consistent groups downrange. This one comes in a subdued OD Green that looks right at home in the field or on the range.
Dialing In Your Fit With the PRO 700
This is where the PRO 700 earns its keep. Length of pull adjusts from 13.25 to 15.125 inches, comb height has a full inch of travel with a secondary locking knob to kill any cheek riser wobble, and the buttpad moves up 1.33 inches, down 0.9 inches, and cants 5 degrees left or right. There's a 3-position cheek riser and a pistol grip with 0.75 inches of fore and aft trigger reach adjustment. Magpul even tosses in a second grip with a more aggressive forward sweep, so you can set the angle that feels natural to your hand.
Ambidextrous Design and the Folding Hinge
Lefties genuinely get equal treatment here. The bedding block converts to left or right hand actions by swapping the bolt retainer and QD sling swivel plates with a hex wrench, and the folding hinge itself is reversible. That push-button hinge uses Melonite-treated steel, locks up solid when deployed, and folds clear of the bolt handle for easier transport and storage.
Feeding and Mounting on the Magpul PRO 700
An integrated AICS-pattern magazine well runs PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC mags along with most other AICS short action magazines, and it includes a low-profile ambidextrous release and a barricade stop up front. M-LOK slots line the forend and stock for bipods, weights, and other gear, and there's an optional inline mount available for clip-on night vision or thermal. The oversized trigger guard clears gloved fingers and works with most factory and aftermarket triggers. Made in the USA.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the PRO 700 fit my Remington 700 short action?
Yes, this chassis is built for short action Remington 700 receivers and other actions cut to the 700 footprint. It accepts factory Remington barrels and aftermarket barrels up to an MTU profile in the free-floating forend. Just note that long action 700s need the PRO 700L version instead.
Is the Magpul PRO 700 set up for left-handed shooters?
It is fully ambidextrous. You convert the bedding block for a left or right hand action by swapping the bolt retainer plate and QD sling swivel plate with a hex wrench, and the folding hinge is reversible so it folds to whichever side you prefer.
What magazines does the PRO 700 chassis use?
The integrated magazine well is AICS-pattern and optimized for Magpul PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC magazines. It also runs most other AICS-pattern short action magazines on the market, and there's a barricade stop up front to keep pressure off the mag when shooting off support.
Does the folding stock interfere with the bolt handle?
No, the push-button folding hinge is designed to fold clear of the bolt handle and works with a wide range of aftermarket bolt knobs. When deployed it locks up solid for a stable shooting platform, and it tucks the rig down for easier transport and storage.
