Magpul built the MOE TR around one idea: make the stock disappear when you're moving fast and get out of the way when you need to work on it. It weighs a scant 8 ounces, which puts it near the top of Magpul's lightweight lineup, and the slim A-frame profile keeps it from snagging on gear during shoulder transitions. Slide it onto any Mil-Spec carbine receiver extension and you're good to go, no tools required.
The headline feature is right there in the name. The Trigger Release is an ambidextrous, textured lever that lets you adjust length of pull with one hand from either side. The TR runs a collapsed LOP of roughly 10.5 inches out to about 13.8 inches extended, giving you a 3.3 inch range to dial in a fit whether you're in a t-shirt or layered up. It's a genuinely quick system that works the same for lefties and righties.
Where this stock really earns its keep is installation. Instead of wrestling a high-tension spring like older designs, the TR uses a bottom-mounted takedown lever that fully retracts the mechanism so the stock slides right on and off the tube. There's a small padlock icon by the lever that shows you at a glance whether it's locked or unlocked, and the lever sits partially recessed so it won't get bumped or snag. When locked, the stock stays put. This is easily one of the fastest Magpul stocks to swap.
For slinging up, the MOE TR has rear ambidextrous M-LOK slots that double as a footman's loop for direct attachment, and they'll accept optional M-LOK QD sling mounts if you prefer push-button swivels. It also plays nice with receiver-mount options like the Magpul ASAP and ASAP QD. Want a touch more length? It's compatible with the MOE SL Enhanced Rubber Butt-Pad for an extra 0.70 inches. The MOE TR is built for Mil-Spec sized carbine receiver extension tubes, which are the most common on AR-15 and AR-10 builds from makers like Colt, LMT, Ruger, S&W, and SIG. It will not fit commercial-spec tubes, so check the diameter of yours before ordering. The buffer tube itself is not included.
