Sometimes an adjustable stock is more than you need, and the wobble and rattle that come with it get old fast. The Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock in Flat Dark Earth is the fix. It's a fixed, non-collapsing A-frame stock built for mil-spec size carbine-length buffer tubes, giving you a rock-solid mount with no play and a comb that sits right where you want it for a repeatable cheek weld.
The design keeps things simple in the best way. You get a nonadjustable 12.2 inch length of pull, which lands close to where most folks run an adjustable stock a few clicks out, so the transition feels natural. The sloped comb rides higher and cleaner than what you find on a lot of collapsible stocks, so getting behind glass or irons is comfortable and there's less of the beard-pinching hangover you get from stocks that ride the buffer tube. At just 9.5 ounces of reinforced Magpul polymer, it's light, tough, and takes a beating without complaint.
This stock shines on builds where consistency matters more than adjustability. Duty guns, training carbines, dedicated range rifles, and rimfire builds all benefit from a fixed shouldering point that never shifts on you. The A-frame shape is snag-free for fast handling, and the anti-slip rubber butt-pad grips your shoulder and soaks up a little impact. If you want more length later, it plays nice with the PRS Extended Rubber Butt-Pad.
Mounting is flexible. There are two footman's loops plus optional QD sling sockets that work with Magpul push-button QD Sling Mount Kits, and it's compatible with Magpul ASAP and ASAP QD receiver-mount attachments. Installation is a straightforward job you can do at home. It slides onto a mil-spec tube and secures without removing the castle nut or lock plate, so most people have it on and ready in a couple of minutes. Made in the USA.
It's built for mil-spec size carbine-length receiver extensions, which covers most AR-15/M4 platform rifles from makers like Colt, LMT, Ruger, S&W, and SIG. If your rifle has a commercial-spec tube, you'll want the commercial version instead. When in doubt, measure the outside diameter of your tube or check what stock it currently wears.
