The Magpul Pro 700 Fixed Stock takes a plain Remington 700 short-action barreled action and drops it into a rigid, adjustable chassis that shoots like something built to order. At its core is a machined Type III hard anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum V-bedding block, body, and forend, all wrapped in Magpul polymer that cuts noise, warms up cold metal in the field, and gives you something comfortable to grab onto. That aluminum skeleton locks the action in place for repeatable accuracy, while the polymer shell keeps the ergonomics friendly. It fits factory Remington barrels and aftermarket barrels up to an MTU profile with plenty of room to free-float.
This is where the chassis earns its keep. Length of pull runs from 13.25 inches to 15.125 inches with a tool-free grooved knob, and the comb height gives you a full inch of rise with a secondary locking knob that kills any wiggle in the cheek riser. The cheek piece also shifts fore and aft in three positions and reverses side to side. The rubber butt pad adjusts up 1.33 inches, down 0.90 inches, and cants left or right up to five degrees. Whether you are tall, short, or somewhere in between, you can get a natural hold behind the scope.
Lefties are covered here. The Pro 700 accepts right or left-hand short-action Remington 700 rifles by swapping the bolt retainer plate and QD sling swivel plate with a 1/8 inch hex wrench, and the cheek riser flips to match. The integrated AICS-pattern magazine well is optimized for Magpul PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC magazines and feeds most other AICS-pattern short-action mags. A low-profile ambidextrous melonite-treated steel mag release, a barricade stop up front, and an oversized trigger guard that clears gloved fingers round out the package.
The forend carries 21 M-LOK slots spread across the sides and bottom, plus two more under the stock, so bipods, arca rails, and other add-ons have somewhere to live. Two pistol grips come in the box, letting you pick a more vertical hold or a swept AR-style angle, and the grip gives 0.75 inches of fore/aft travel to fine-tune trigger reach. Want a folding setup later? This fixed version accepts the Pro FHA Folding Hinge Adapter down the road.
It is built for short-action Remington 700 rifles and other actions sharing the 700 footprint. You drop in your barreled action, torque it down with the included action screws, and you are set. It handles factory Remington barrels and aftermarket profiles up to MTU, so most standard and heavy sporter barrels free-float without contact.
Yes, it is fully ambidextrous. Swapping the bolt retainer plate and QD sling swivel plate with a 1/8 inch hex wrench sets it up for a right or left-hand action, and the cheek riser reverses to match. The magazine release is ambidextrous out of the box.
The integrated mag well is AICS-pattern and optimized for Magpul PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC magazines. It also feeds most other AICS-pattern short-action magazines, including steel AICS mags. Keep in mind magazines are sold separately and not included with the chassis.
You can. This fixed version upgrades to a folding setup by adding the Magpul Pro FHA Folding Hinge Adapter, sold separately. That makes it easy to start with the fixed stock now and add folding capability down the road if you need a shorter footprint for transport or storage.
