Dropping your short-action Remington 700 into the Magpul Pro 700 Fixed Stock is one of the easiest ways to squeeze real accuracy out of a factory or custom action. It's built around a fully machined Type III hard anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum skeleton with a V-shaped bedding block that locks the action in place, and it free-floats the barrel to keep pressure off where it counts. Magpul then clads the whole thing in polymer, which cuts down on noise, keeps your hands off cold or scorching metal, and gives it a more natural feel than a bare chassis.
Adjustability is where this stock earns its keep. Length of pull runs from about 13.3 to 15.2 inches with a tool-free knob, and the cheek comb raises up to a full inch while also shifting fore and aft. The rubber butt-pad adjusts for both height and cant, so you can dial in a repeatable cheek weld and shoulder fit without fussing every time you sit behind it. Two grips ship in the box, a standard one and a more aggressive swell, and the grip itself gives you three-quarters of an inch of fore and aft travel to fine-tune trigger reach.
The Pro 700 accepts Remington 700-pattern short actions, right or left hand, with a simple swap of the bolt retainer plate using a 1/8 inch hex wrench. It clears factory Remington barrels and aftermarket profiles up to MTU. The integrated AICS-pattern magazine well feeds Magpul PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC mags along with most other AICS short-action magazines, and the ambidextrous Melonite-treated steel mag release stays low-profile and snag-free. A barricade stop up front keeps pressure off the mag when you're shooting off support.
The forend carries 21 M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, plus slots under the buttstock for a monopod or bag rider. That opens the door to bipods, arca rails, weights, and night vision mounting down the road. If you ever want a folder, this fixed version converts over with the Magpul Pro FHA Folding Hinge Adapter. It's built for Remington 700 short-action rifles and other actions that share the Rem 700 short-action footprint, including many clones like Bergara and various custom actions. It clears all factory Remington barrels and aftermarket barrels up to an MTU profile. If you're running a heavy varmint or bull profile, you should be in good shape.
This SKU does not include a magazine. The chassis has an integrated AICS-pattern magazine well that runs Magpul PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC mags along with most other AICS short-action magazines, so you'll grab those separately. If you reload long, keep in mind metal AICS mags often allow a bit more cartridge length than polymer PMAGs.
Yes. The chassis is fully ambidextrous, and converting between right and left hand actions just takes swapping the bolt retainer plate and QD sling swivel plate with a 1/8 inch hex wrench. The cheek riser is reversible too, so a left-handed setup gets the same fit and feel as a righty.
You can. The fixed version upgrades to a folding stock by adding the Magpul Pro FHA Folding Hinge Adapter (MAG999). It's a straightforward way to start with the fixed setup now and add a folder down the road if you want a shorter package for travel or storage.
