The Magpul ACS-L, or Adaptable Carbine Stock – Light, is a slimmed-down take on Magpul's popular ACS buttstock. It was built for folks who wanted the wide, sloping cheek weld and the handy storage bay but didn't need the bulky battery tubes hanging off the sides. What you get is a lighter, narrower stock that shoulders comfortably and rides low enough to keep your carbine feeling nimble. This one is the Stealth Gray version, which pairs nicely with two-tone builds or anything you want to set apart from the usual black.
Dropping the battery tubes shaved real weight and width off the frame, bringing it down to right around 12.5 ounces on its own. The sloping comb gives you a wide contact surface that works well for right or left-handed shooting, and a lot of people mention it doesn't tug at beard hair the way some slimmer stocks do. There's a rubber butt-pad on the back for grip against your shoulder, and if you want more cushion, Magpul sells thicker 0.55-inch and 0.70-inch pads that swap right in.
The center storage compartment sits in the tail of the stock with a latching door on the right side, held shut by a chrome-silicon lock spring. It's a great spot for a spare CR123 or 2032 battery, a hex wrench, some gas rings, or a lens cloth to keep the rattle down.
