The Magpul MAG587-BLK is one of those small parts that quietly solves a real problem on your build. When you want a weapon light or a compact optic sitting forward on the handguard without eating up your grip real estate, this cantilever mount does the job. It attaches directly to any M-LOK slot and pushes its Picatinny rail segment out ahead of the mounting point, which keeps your accessory positioned right where you want it while staying low and out of the way.
The rail extends roughly .75 to 1.5 inches forward of the M-LOK slot, and that forward reach matters more than it sounds. Pushing a light out past the handguard edge cuts down on barrel shadow and lines the beam up closer to the bore, so you get cleaner target illumination instead of a big dark crescent in your beam.
