The Magpul MAG941-FDE Bipod clamps straight onto any standard 1913 Picatinny rail and gives you a lightweight, no-nonsense shooting rest that holds up in the field. At just over 11 ounces, it built from Mil-Spec hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, stainless steel internals, and injection-molded reinforced polymer, so it shrugs off forward loading and years of hard use without adding a bunch of nose weight to your setup.
Speed is where this bipod shines. The spring-tensioned legs stow forward under the barrel and snap down to lock into place with one hand, and each leg extends a full four inches, from 6.3 to 10.3 inches, across seven half-inch detents you set with the push of a button. A glove-friendly knurled knob sits between the legs and handles both tilt and pan without any tools. You get 50 degrees of total tilt and 40 degrees of total pan, plus the handy ability to lock pan at zero while keeping full tilt. That means you can level up on uneven ground and still stay square on target.
Folks who have run this one hard tend to come around to it fast, especially anyone coming off pricier options who expected less. It loads up nicely under forward tension, the soft stepped rubber feet grab both smooth benches and rough ground, and the low-profile housing tucks the mechanisms out of the way so it doesn't snag on gear. Folded up it measures just under 2.3 inches deep and 3.3 inches wide, and tight tolerances keep the squeaks and rattles down.
