The Magpul AFG-2 takes everything that made the original Angled Fore Grip a favorite and trims it down into a shorter, slimmer package. By angling your support hand rather than wrapping it around a vertical grip, the AFG-2 keeps your hand high on the centerline of the bore. That positioning works with your natural body mechanics instead of against them, so you can drive the rifle to the target, manage recoil, and get back on for faster follow-up shots without fighting your own grip.
A vertical foregrip has you hanging on to the rifle. The angled design of the AFG-2 lets you push and pull it into your shoulder for a more stable, controlled hold. It gives you many of the perks of a VFG, like reduced wrist and arm fatigue and more grip surface, without the snag hazard or the tendency to just hold on instead of steering the muzzle. For run-and-gun work or tight-quarters shooting, that low profile is a real advantage.
Built from tough polymer with a textured finish, this grip is nearly indestructible and gives you a better purchase than bare aluminum rail. It mounts to MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny and NATO STANAG 4694 rails, and Magpul recommends around 3 inches of rail space to seat it properly. The slimmer footprint of the AFG-2 fits a wider range of handguards and plays nicely with rail covers and other accessories, which the original AFG couldn't always do.
One of the smartest touches is the three-piece design with a swappable finger shelf. You can run a flat A1-style surface or an A2-style finger nub depending on what your hand likes. All the mounting hardware is included, so you can bolt it on, dial in the shelf, and get to the range. Made in the USA, the OD Green finish adds a clean, understated look to a build that wants function first.
The AFG-2 mounts directly to MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny and NATO STANAG 4694 rails. Magpul recommends about 3 inches of open rail space to seat it securely. If you run an M-LOK handguard, you would need a separate M-LOK to Picatinny adapter to attach it.
