Instead of balancing a rifle awkwardly on a curved magazine base, you get a wider, more stable footprint that actually works. Each plate has an injection-molded TPU pad on the bottom that grips concrete, tile, dirt, or whatever surface you're shooting on.
The standard PMAG base is curved, which means it only touches the ground with a tiny contact point when you're trying to use it as a support. That's why rifles rock side to side and feel tippy. The MagPod solves this by providing a stable platform at both the front and rear. The textured TPU pad bites into the surface and prevents slipping, so your rifle stays put when you lean into it slightly.
MagPod makes these from 15% glass-fiber-reinforced nylon, so they're built to take a beating. The ergonomic shape also gives you a better grip when you're pulling mags from pouches or doing reloads. The pack includes a SPACEFRAME docking slot if you ever want to add a Multitasker NANO or NANO2 tool to the mix.

If you use pouches with bungee straps, you'll need to lift the bungee slightly to remove the magazine. Open-top pouches and hard carriers typically have no issues.
The TPU base pad grips well on hard surfaces like concrete, tile, and pavement. You'll also get good stability on softer terrain like dirt and grass. The textured pad prevents slipping and allows you to lean into the magazine like you would a bipod for consistent support.
