The Springfield Armory 8-round magazine fills a real gap for XD-S owners. You get one more round than the standard 7-rounder without the bulk of the full 9-round extended mag. It sits somewhere in the middle, giving you that extra capacity boost while maintaining a carry-friendly footprint.
This magazine is engineered specifically for the original XD-S models. The stainless steel body pairs with a polymer follower and base plate, manufactured to match Springfield's factory specifications exactly. The construction is solid and straightforward, designed to cycle reliably through whatever you feed it. Two interchangeable black polymer sleeves come in the box to fit backstraps 1 and 2, so you can adapt the grip diameter to match your hand size and preferred carry setup.
Where this mag really shines is flexibility. You can carry 8+1 loaded in your XD-S while keeping the gun's natural conceal profile. At the range, the extra round means fewer reloads during a training session. The stainless construction resists corrosion, and the witness holes on the side let you count your rounds without unloading. Everything about it is straightforward Springfield factory quality.
This magazine is designed for the original XD-S only and will not fit XD-S Mod.2 models. If you own a Mod.2, you'll need magazines built specifically for that platform.
No. This magazine is designed for the original XD-S platform only and will not fit Mod.2 models. Springfield makes separate magazines specifically for Mod.2 pistols. If you own a Mod.2, you'll need magazines designated for that version.
The flush-fit magazine that comes with most XD-S pistols holds 7 rounds. This 8-round mag gives you one additional round in the same general carry profile, sitting between the flush mag and the full 9-round extended version.
The two black sleeves slide over the magazine and are sized to fit different hand sizes. Sleeve 1 is for the narrower backstrap, and sleeve 2 fits the wider backstrap. You choose which sleeve to use based on which backstrap size you have installed in your pistol's grip.
This is a factory original Springfield Armory magazine built to the same specifications as the OEM magazines that come with XD-S pistols. Springfield manufactures it using stainless steel and polymer components matched to their original production standards.
