The 500-9CD is their next-generation ETM for compact 1911s, completely redesigned from the ground up with Bill Wilson personally logging over 10,000 rounds across factory and handloaded 9mm ammo during development. The result is a magazine that feeds smoothly, seats easily with the slide down on a full load, and locks the slide back reliably on the last round.
The tube itself is made from 17-7 PH stainless steel with .025" walls, which is the thickest in the industry, heat-treated for long-term durability. Wilson Combat also relocated the observation slots to the rear of the tube where they do the least structural damage, a small detail that makes a real difference in preventing tube spread and feed lip cracking over time. The redesigned front ramp inside the tube helps prevent the nose-down feeding issues that plagued earlier single-stack 9mm designs, especially with shorter rounds and hollow points.
The low-profile steel base pad adds a positive gripping surface for quick, confident reloads without adding bulk, and it's removable for easy cleaning and maintenance. It's designed for compact Officer/Defender-length 1911 frames with a 3.5-inch grip. It fits a wide range of compact 9mm 1911s from various manufacturers. One compatibility note: some Kimber 1911 models have barrel feed ramps left unfinished from the factory that can interfere with the magazine's front ramp, but a gunsmith can address that easily. When in doubt, measure your grip panel length before ordering.
