This detachable polymer magazine gives you the round count you need without excess weight or bulk. Built from high-strength, glass-filled polymer, it's tough enough that MDT tested these by driving vehicles over them. The tempered steel spring handles consistent feeding through different climates and conditions, staying reliable whether you're at the range in summer heat or hunting in cold weather.
The magazine is engineered around the AICS standard, so it fits directly into any MDT chassis like the TAC21, ACC, ESS, LSS-XL, and XRS. Beyond MDT systems, it also works with many M24-style bottom metals and aftermarket chassis from KRG, GRS, XLR, CDI, and Pacific Tool & Gauge. Some third-party systems may need minor fitting. The FDE finish pairs well with modern precision rifle builds and matches most contemporary chassis color schemes.
MDT's Double Stack to Single Feed design stacks cartridges side-by-side at the bottom of the magazine, then transitions them to single-file at the top. This keeps overall magazine height down compared to standard AICS mags, making prone position mag changes less awkward. The 10-round capacity gives you solid firepower for both competition and field work without requiring a massive profile. Cartridges can be up to 2.850 inches in overall length, so you have room for loaded 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 ammunition.
This magazine works across the short-action .308 family: .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, .243 Winchester, 7mm-08, .260 Remington, 6mm XC, .22-250 Remington (reduced capacity), and 7.62 NATO. It's not recommended for .300 WSM as the polymer feed lips may need adjustment for that cartridge. If you're running a Winchester Model 70, some fitting may be required.
Yes, this magazine is designed to work with many AICS and M24-style bottom metals beyond just MDT chassis systems. Popular choices like KRG, GRS, XLR, CDI, and Pacific Tool & Gauge platforms typically work well, though some may require minor fitting. Winchester Model 70 rifles may also need fitting. Always verify compatibility with your specific platform.
The DSSF pattern stacks rounds side-by-side at the base, then feeds them single-file at the top. This keeps the magazine height shorter than traditional AICS mags while still holding the same round count. For precision rifle shooting, especially prone position work, this means faster, easier magazine changes without the extra bulk.
MDT tested these magazines extensively, including driving vehicles over them. The glass-filled polymer provides real durability for field and range use. While not indestructible, they handle rough handling, temperature extremes, and extended storage without losing function. Many shooters carry multiple magazines as backups in any scenario.
This magazine is not recommended for .300 WSM. The polymer feed lips aren't designed to handle that round reliably, and adjustment would be needed. If you run .300 WSM, MDT makes a separate metal magazine line designed specifically for magnum calibers.
