The construction follows the same logic as the OEM Glock design: a hardened steel insert encased in a reinforced polymer body. That steel liner is what separates KCI from cheaper all-polymer aftermarket options, adding rigidity and helping the body hold its shape under regular use and the occasional hard drop. The anti-tilt polymer follower keeps rounds feeding consistently, and the heat-treated chrome silicon wire spring is built to cycle reliably under pressure. Like any new extended magazine with a fresh spring, plan on cycling this one a few times before it accepts a full 31 rounds. That is completely normal with high-capacity mags and a magazine loader helps speed up that break-in process considerably.
