Where the stock B&T magazines use polymer feed lips that have earned a reputation for cracking under abuse, KCI went with steel-reinforced feed lips. That's a meaningful upgrade for anyone who runs their gear hard. Feed lips take a beating every time a mag hits the ground, gets cycled heavily, or lives in a kit bag. Steel holds up where polymer doesn't, plain and simple. The mag also runs a high-carbon steel spring to keep feeding pressure consistent and reliable round after round.
The body itself is semi-transparent polycarbonate with numbered witness holes on the side, so you can see exactly how many rounds are left without guessing or counting in your head. Loading is smooth too, with noticeably less follower pressure compared to factory B&T mags, which makes topping off those last five rounds a lot less of a wrestling match. The mag drops free cleanly and seats into the magwell with a solid, positive lock.
