It's designed specifically for the Henry U.S. Survival AR-7 and works perfectly with that platform. While it may be compatible with some older AR-7 variants from Charter Arms or Armalite, Henry's website notes compatibility isn't guaranteed with those older designs. Your best bet is to verify with the rifle manufacturer if you're using something other than a current Henry model.
This is the factory magazine engineered by Henry specifically for their rifle. Aftermarket mags may fit, but you could run into feeding issues that you won't get with the OEM Henry part.
The Henry stock has dedicated compartments that hold two fully loaded magazines. You can also store a third magazine inside the receiver while it's stowed in the stock, giving you a total capacity of 24 rounds if you have three mags loaded.
The magazine itself is steel and corrosion-resistant, but it's not sealed. The waterproof storage comes from the AR-7's plastic stock. Store the loaded magazine inside the stock compartments and the entire package will remain waterproof.
