This Ed Brown magazine is built for reliability. The 9-round capacity for 9mm is no accident—it's engineered specifically for optimal feeding. Because 9mm rounds are tapered, a nine-round configuration keeps round nose pressure controlled during stacking. A ten-rounder can cause feeding issues and dive the nose into the feed ramp on certain platforms, so Ed Brown dialed this in for universal compatibility across Government model frames from different makers.
The tube is 0.025-inch thick heat-treated 410 stainless and polished inside and out to eliminate drag. That polishing is paired with a self-lubricating finish that keeps things running smooth. You get a patented steel follower and one of the stiffest springs in the industry, both designed to lock your slide to the rear reliably every time. The whole package gets TIG welded for maximum strength, then hand-finished to feel buttery smooth.
You get two different base pads with installation screws. Leave the pads off entirely for a flush fit if you carry concealed. Install the thin pad for a low-profile that gives just enough length to seat the mag easily without the bulk. Go with the thick pad if your gun has a magwell and you want maximum extension for sure indexing. All three configurations are included, so you can adjust as your needs change.
