Construction is stainless steel throughout, with a laser-welded tube and a welded base plate that holds up better than a crimped or pinned floor plate over time. For traditional Officer-size 1911s from Colt, Springfield, Kimber (Pro/Ultra variants), Rock Island, and similar makers, this magazine fits right in.

No, this is a compact magazine sized specifically for Officer-frame 1911 pistols. Full-size and Commander 1911s use a longer magazine with a different grip screw spacing of about 3.06 inches center-to-center. If you have a Government or Commander model, look for the full-size version of the CMC Classic instead.
The base plate on this model is a welded fixed plate, which means it does not slide off for disassembly the way a removable base pad does. It is pre-drilled to accept an optional screw-on polymer base pad if you want one, but the plate itself stays put. For full cleaning, the spring and follower can be removed through the top of the magazine.
It is designed to fit traditional compact Officer-size 1911 pistols in .45 ACP from manufacturers like Colt, Springfield Armory, Rock Island Armory, and Kimber Pro and Ultra variants.
