There are plenty of direct impingement ARs out there, but LWRC didn't build the IC-DI to blend in with them. This is the company that made its name on piston guns, and when they decided to do a DI rifle, they carried over the same fit, finish, and attention to detail. This version pairs the .300 AAC Blackout chambering with a Flat Dark Earth anodized receiver set, and the result is a rifle that looks as good as it runs.
The heart of the gun is a 16.1 inch cold hammer forged barrel with a NiCorr treatment inside and out, a combination that handles heat well and shrugs off wear far longer than a standard barrel. The 1:7 twist stabilizes everything from light supersonic loads to heavy subsonics, which matters in .300 Blackout since most owners end up running both. Up top, LWRC's Monoforge upper receiver integrates the rail base into a single forging for added rigidity, and the free-float M-LOK handguard gives you plenty of real estate for lights, lasers, or a hand stop without touching the barrel.
The lower is fully ambidextrous from the factory. Mag release, bolt catch and release, and the safety selector are all mirrored, and the charging handle is ambidextrous too. Left-handed folks will appreciate not having to reach around the gun, and right-handed users get faster manipulations once they learn the layout. A Magpul MOE+ grip and LWRC's compact stock with a QD sling point on a mil-spec six-position buffer tube round out the furniture.
At 6.6 pounds it carries easily, and the flat-top receiver comes optics ready so you can set it up however you like. And here's a nice bonus: the lower is compatible with the rest of LWRC's IC family, so down the road you can drop a piston-driven IC upper on it if the itch ever strikes. Whether it's for hog hunting, home defense, or suppressed range days, this one earns its keep.

They are. The magazine release, bolt catch and release, and safety selector are all mirrored on both sides of the lower, and the charging handle is ambidextrous as well. Left-handed users can run this rifle without any workarounds, and righties get some handy options for faster manipulations.
No sights are included. It ships with a flat-top Picatinny rail up top, so it's ready for whatever red dot, LPVO, or backup iron sights you prefer. The Monoforge upper and free-float M-LOK rail give you a rigid, consistent platform for mounting optics and accessories.
