The Luth-AR MBA-3 is a modular buttstock built for folks who want their AR to fit like it was made for them. Instead of settling for the two or three positions a standard M4 stock gives you, this one opens up nearly unlimited adjustment across the cheek rest, length of pull, and butt plate. It drops onto a 6-position carbine buffer tube (Mil-Spec or Commercial diameter) and uses four of those six positions, so it's a straight swap for anyone tired of a rattling, one-size-fits-most collapsible stock.
The adjustable cheek rest raises up to a full inch, which makes a real difference when you're running an optic and want a consistent, repeatable cheek weld shot after shot. The 3-axis butt plate is where this stock earns its keep. It moves horizontally to add up to 1-1/16 inch of length of pull, vertically so the pad sits into the pocket of your shoulder, and laterally for about a half inch of left or right cast. That kind of tuning is usually reserved for pricey precision stocks, and here it's built right in.
The MBA-3 body is molded from super strong glass-filled nylon, and that construction keeps the weight down to roughly 18 ounces, about half of what a lot of comparable adjustable stocks tip the scales at. Luth-AR also added a flat-bottom index set screw to snug the stock against the buffer tube and kill the wobble that plagues a lot of collapsible designs. Once you set it where you want and lock it down, it stays put and stays quiet.
There's a Picatinny rail on the bottom rear of the stock body, which is a handy spot for mounting a rear monopod on a bench or barricade build. Multiple sling mounting points and molded pockets that accept QD cups give you flexibility on carry setups too. The MBA-3 fits all .223 and most .308 carbine-style rifles, making it a solid upgrade whether you're building a range gun, a hunting rig, or a competition blaster.
Yes, the MBA-3 is designed to slide onto either a 6-position Mil-Spec or Commercial diameter carbine buffer tube. When you run it on the smaller Mil-Spec tube, you use the included set screw to snug it up and eliminate rattle. Keep in mind certain oversized aftermarket commercial tubes that exceed roughly 1.172 inches may not fit.
It does. The MBA-3 fits all .223/5.56 and most .308 AR carbine-style rifles as long as you're using a standard carbine buffer tube. It is not designed for large-bore calibers like .338 Lapua or .50 BMG, so stick with standard AR chamberings.
