The Luth-AR 308 Charging Handle is a straightforward, dependable piece that handles the everyday job of chambering and clearing rounds on your .308 platform. Luth-AR builds it from 6061 aluminum with a black hardcoat anodized finish, so you get a handle that holds up to repeated use and shrugs off corrosion instead of showing wear after a season at the range. It's the standard .308 offering from Luth-AR, which means you're getting a proven design rather than something fussy or overbuilt for the sake of marketing.
This is the kind of part you don't think much about until you need one, and that's exactly the point. The aluminum construction keeps it light without giving up strength, and the anodized coating means the finish stays looking right even after plenty of manipulation. Whether you're replacing a handle that's seen better days or spec'ing out a new .308 upper from scratch, it drops in and does its job without drama.
Here's where a little know-how helps. Unlike AR-15 parts, the .308 world never fully standardized, so charging handles fall mainly into two camps: DPMS/LR-308 pattern and Armalite AR-10 pattern. Most non-Armalite .308 rifles run the DPMS-style setup, and the majority of them will interchange. Before you order, it's worth confirming which pattern your upper receiver uses so you know you're matching the right family. If you're running a common DPMS-pattern .308 build, this handle is an easy fit.
Luth-AR has earned a reputation for making solid, sensibly priced parts that just work, and this charging handle fits right into that lineup. It's an uncomplicated upgrade or replacement that keeps your rifle running the way it should, made right here in the States by a company that knows the AR platform inside and out.
It's designed for .308 platform rifles and works with the common DPMS/LR-308 pattern that most non-Armalite .308 builds use. Since the .308 AR world never fully standardized like the AR-15, it's smart to confirm whether your upper is DPMS or Armalite pattern before ordering. For the majority of DPMS-style .308 uppers, this handle drops right in.
Luth-AR machines it from 6061 aluminum and finishes it with a black hardcoat anodizing. That combination keeps the handle lightweight while giving it good resistance to corrosion and everyday wear. It holds up well to repeated cycling at the range.
It works for both. This is the standard .308 charging handle from Luth-AR, so it's a natural swap if your original is worn or damaged, and it's just as at home on a fresh build. It's a no-nonsense part that gets your rifle running without extra complication.
No, it ships as the single charging handle assembly on its own. There's no additional hardware or accessories in the package. You'll simply install it in place of your existing handle.
