Long days in the field have a way of exposing a cheap sling fast, and that's exactly the gap the Loc-Down Gun Sling from Loc Outdoorz is built to fill. It's made from hand-braided paracord, giving it a rugged, textured feel that holds up to brush, weather, and the general abuse that comes with carrying a gun through rough terrain. The camo pattern keeps things low profile, whether you're easing up on a treestand or working through cover on a still hunt, and the whole thing is put together right here in the USA.
Paracord alone can start to bite into your shoulder after a mile or two, so Loc Outdoorz added a padded section right where the weight sits. That padding spreads the load out instead of letting it dig in, which makes a real difference once you've been carrying for a few hours. The length is adjustable too, so you can dial in the fit whether you're bundled up for late season or moving light during early season hunts.
Getting this sling on your gun doesn't take any special tools or a trip to the gunsmith. It comes with GrovTec swivels that hook right onto standard sling studs, so it works across most rifles, shotguns, and crossbows without modification. That also makes it easy to swap between guns in the safe if you're not committed to running the same sling on everything you own.
Because the body is genuine paracord, it carries a bit of built-in backup utility too. In a real pinch it can be unraveled for cordage, though most folks just keep it doing its job as a sling day in and day out. Between the padded comfort, the simple swivel attachment, and the camo finish that matches up with typical hunting gear, this is a straightforward upgrade for anyone tired of a sling that slides around or leaves a mark on their shoulder by the end of the day.
The Loc-Down sling comes with GrovTec swivels that attach to standard sling studs, so it works with most rifles, shotguns, and crossbows without any modification needed. As long as your firearm has swivel studs in place, you can have this sling attached in just a couple of minutes.
Yes, the padded shoulder section is there specifically to keep the paracord from digging in during long carries. Pair that with the adjustable length and you can position the padding exactly where you need it, whether you're hiking to a stand or covering ground on a spot and stalk hunt.
Since the body of the sling is hand-braided paracord, it can technically be unraveled for cordage if you're ever in a real bind. Just keep in mind that doing so takes the sling itself out of commission, so it's more of a last-resort backup than something you'd plan around.
The camo finish is meant to blend into wooded and brushy terrain rather than stand out, so it pairs well with most hunting setups. It's a solid choice if you'd rather your gear stay low profile in the stand or blind instead of drawing the eye.
