Description

Sons of Liberty Gun Works built the Liberty Charging Handle around one main idea: make something that works with heavy suppressed shooting without adding bulk you don't need. This Narrow Latch version keeps the profile tight while still giving you fast, fumble-free manipulation from either hand. It's the kind of upgrade that disappears into your setup and just does its job.

What Sets the Liberty Narrow Latch Apart

The smart part of this design is the raised lip at the rear of the handle. It creates a seal against the back of the upper receiver that interrupts gas blowback when you're running a can, which means fewer fumes drifting toward your face during long strings of fire. The ambidextrous latches let you charge strong side or support side with the same fluid motion, and the shape is contoured to slide past gear without snagging. You can palm-blade it, run one or two fingers, or thumb charge it depending on how you like to run your gun.

How the Narrow Latch Compares to the Standard LCH

The big difference here is width. This Narrow Latch model measures 2.17 inches, the same as a standard USGI charging handle, while the standard Liberty handle runs about two tenths of an inch wider. That slimmer footprint is the pick if you're running lower profile optics or you wear a plate carrier and bulky kit and don't want the handle catching on anything. If you're mostly running larger magnified optics and want a bit more real estate to grab, the wider standard version might suit you better.

Built to Take Abuse

Every Liberty Charging Handle is machined from aircraft-grade 7075 T6 aluminum and finished with a Mil-Spec Hard Coat Type III anodize. That's an all-metal build with no plastic to crack or flex, so it holds up to repeated hard charging. SOLGW has a strong reputation for quality control on their parts, and folks who run this handle tend to point to the clean fit, smooth action, and slim snag-free profile as the reasons it stays on their rifle.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the Liberty Narrow Latch and the standard Liberty Charging Handle?

The Narrow Latch version measures 2.17 inches wide, matching a standard USGI charging handle, while the standard Liberty handle runs about two tenths of an inch wider. The narrow model is optimized for lower profile optics and shooters running bulky kit who want to avoid snags. The wider standard version gives you a little more grabbing surface if you're using larger magnified optics.

Does the Liberty Charging Handle help with gas when shooting suppressed?

Yes. It has a raised lip at the rear that seals against the back of the upper receiver, which interrupts gas blowback during suppressed fire. That means fewer fumes drifting back toward your face on longer strings. Reducing gas to the face was one of the main design goals behind this handle.

Is this charging handle truly ambidextrous?

It is. There are textured latches on both sides of the handle, so you can charge the rifle from your strong side or support side with the same smooth motion. The latch shape allows for palm-blading, single or double finger manipulation, and even thumb charging depending on your preference.

What is the Liberty Narrow Latch handle made from?

It's machined from aircraft-grade 7075 T6 aluminum and finished with a Mil-Spec Hard Coat Type III anodize. That's an all-metal construction with no plastic components, so it stands up to repeated hard charging without bending or breaking. Sons of Liberty is known for solid quality control on their parts.
