Anyone who has ever chased a detent spring across the garage floor knows the value of a good cleaning mat. The Legend Aftershock Rifle Cleaning Mat gives you a generous 40" x 12" work surface, which is plenty of real estate to lay out a full-length rifle or shotgun along with all the parts, tools, and patches that come with a proper teardown. The soft, textured top keeps your firearm from sliding around and guards the finish against scratches, while the non-slip backing keeps the mat itself planted on your bench.
The standout feature here is the magnet setup. This mat packs six strong magnets into each magnetic tray area, so screws, pins, springs, and other tiny bits stay right where you put them instead of rolling into oblivion. If you have ever lost a takedown pin mid-clean, you understand why this matters. The surface is also chemical and solvent resistant, so oils, CLP, and bore cleaner wipe off without breaking down the material or soaking through to the table underneath.
Legend built this one to last. The construction holds up to years of regular use, whether you are running a quick field cleaning or doing a full detail strip. When you are done, just wipe it down, roll it up, and slide it into the included resealable tube. That makes it easy to tuck away in a cabinet or toss in the truck for a trip to the range or deer camp.
Between the size, the magnet count, and the tough, wipe-clean surface, the Aftershock Rifle Cleaning Mat is a solid pick for anyone who takes maintenance seriously and wants a dedicated spot to do it right.
It measures 40 inches long by 12 inches wide, which gives you enough room to lay out a full-length rifle or shotgun along with your tools and small parts. That extra length is the main reason to go with the rifle mat over a pistol-sized one. Most bolt guns, ARs, and shotguns fit comfortably with space to spare.
Yes. The mat features six magnets built into each magnetic tray area, which is more than enough to keep screws, pins, springs, and other loose hardware from rolling away. It is a genuine help when you are working on a firearm with a lot of small components.
It does. The surface is made from chemical and solvent resistant material, so oils, CLP, and bore cleaners wipe right off without soaking through or degrading the mat. It also protects whatever bench or table you have it sitting on from spills and stains.
Very. Once you wipe it clean, you can roll it up and slide it into the included resealable tube for compact storage. That makes it easy to stash in a cabinet at home or bring along to the range or hunting camp.
