If you already load one caliber on your Pro 6000 and want to add another, the shell plate is one of the few parts you need to swap, and this one covers a popular group of rimmed and belted-style straight-wall cases in a single plate.
The #11L carries 44 Magnum, 44 Special, 45 Colt, and 50 AE. Because those cartridges share a close enough rim and base dimension, Lee groups them onto one plate, which keeps you from buying a separate plate for every round. The 45 Colt and 44 Magnum crowd will find this is their go-to plate for the Six Pack Pro.
Changing calibers on the Six Pack Pro is one of the things folks like most about the press. You lower the carrier, lift it about three quarters of the way, then spin the new shell plate on clockwise and snug it down with a hex key. Pair the plate with the matching die set and spline drive bushings for the caliber you're moving to, and you're loading again without re-tooling your whole bench. Cycle the lever a few times to confirm the plate indexes cleanly before you run live components.
