The Lee Deluxe Perfect Powder Measure is the top of Lee's powder measure lineup, and it feels like it the moment you pick it up. It's a big, solid unit with a high-pressure die-cast, diamond-machined body and a precision-machined brass rotor drum. Brass is naturally antistatic and spark-proof, which matters when you're moving powder around all day. The whole thing is built to shrug off years of bench time without wearing loose.
Charge adjustment runs through a true micrometer metering chamber, and it's about as easy to set and read as these things get. The chamber is anodized aluminum with a crisp, laser-engraved scale, and the brass micrometer thimble is marked in .01cc graduations with a releasable detent lock so your setting stays put. With most rifle powders each click lands right around a tenth of a grain, which is a sweet spot when you're working up a load and chasing that accuracy node.
Instead of a metal blade shearing through kernels, a soft elastomer wiper strikes off the metering chamber. That means no cut powder and none of the jerky, gritty handle feel you get on cheaper measures. The rotor turns smooth and the result is consistent, uniform throws across a loading session.
The hopper lifts off easily and has a built-in on/off valve, so you can shut the flow, pull the hopper, and dump unused powder back in its container or switch to a different type in seconds. The hopper feeds into a pre-measuring chamber that keeps charges precise no matter how full the hopper is, so you don't need a separate baffle. One of the nicer touches is support for Lee's quick-change drums, which you can preset to a favorite charge and drop in when you move to a different load.
