Description

The Leapers UTG Big Bore Full Stability Bipod is the heavy hitter of the UTG bipod lineup, built from the ground up for rifles most bipods can't handle. We're talking .50 BMG, .338 Lapua, and other magnum stompers that flat-out abuse lighter gear. The trick is the construction: matte black anodized aircraft-grade aluminum reinforced with steel components right where the recoil hits hardest. Leapers designed and tested it against sustained fire from a Barrett .50, so a Ruger Precision or an AR-50 isn't going to faze it.

What Sets the Big Bore Bipod Apart

The reinforced Picatinny mounting base is longer than what you'll find on a standard bipod, and it clamps down with a squared steel crossbolt for a secure grip under recoil. The legs lock into three folding positions and adjust for a center height of 9 to 14 inches, opening to a wide 70-degree stance that plants the rifle and keeps it there. Big posi-lock push buttons deploy the legs easily, even with gloves on, which is a small thing that makes a real difference in cold weather or a hurry.

Tracking and Terrain With the UTG Big Bore

This is where the Big Bore earns its keep. Tension-adjustable 35-degree panning and 55-degree left and right tilt let you track a target or fine-tune your hold without repositioning the whole rifle. The oversized, serrated steel foot pads rotate a full turn and swivel, so they bite into dirt, sit flat on a bench, or grip an odd surface without you hunting for level ground. Shooters running it on precision rigs consistently note how solid and planted it feels once locked down.

No bones about it, this is a big, purpose-built bipod. It's overkill for a lightweight hunting rifle, but if you own something that kicks like a mule and you want a stable platform that won't flinch, the Big Bore is right at home. It's backed by the Leapers lifetime warranty too.

Frequently Asked Questions

What calibers can the UTG Big Bore Bipod handle?

It's engineered and tested to withstand big bore calibers up to .50 BMG, with reinforced steel components placed where recoil hits hardest. That makes it a natural fit for .338 Lapua, magnum precision rifles, and anti-materiel platforms like the Barrett and AR-50. For a lightweight hunting rifle it's more bipod than you'll ever need, but for heavy hitters it's right at home.

How does the Big Bore Bipod mount to a rifle?

It attaches to a standard 1913 Picatinny rail using a reinforced base with a squared steel crossbolt and an extended contact surface for a secure hold under recoil. If your rifle wears an M-LOK handguard, you'll need an M-LOK to Picatinny rail adapter section to run it. Make sure the crossbolt is fully torqued down before shooting so nothing works loose.

What kind of adjustments does the UTG Big Bore offer?

The legs lock into three folding positions and adjust for a center height between 9 and 14 inches with a wide 70-degree open stance. On top of that you get tension-adjustable 35-degree panning and 55-degree tilt to the left and right for tracking a target. That flexibility lets you fine-tune your hold without repositioning the whole rifle.

Will the feet grip uneven ground?

Yes. The oversized serrated steel foot pads rotate a full turn and swivel so they can sit flat on almost any surface. That means they bite into dirt and rock or plant firmly on a shooting bench without you having to hunt for perfectly level ground.
