This LBE Unlimited handle solves that with an extended latch that gives you noticeably more surface to grab, so you can rack the bolt with a solid, confident pull instead of pinching at a tiny GI tab. It drops into any .308 Winchester or AR-10 style upper and runs exactly like the factory piece, just with a better contact point.
The wider latch is the whole point here. On rifles wearing large optics or bulky mounts, that extra clearance and leverage makes indexing the handle a lot easier, especially when you are working fast or under stress. It also plays nice with gloved hands in cold weather, which is where a standard latch tends to fight you the most.
LBE Unlimited machines this handle from forged 7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminum rather than casting it, which gives you strength where the latch and body take the most abuse without piling on weight. If you run a magnified optic or a large mount, yes. The bigger latch gives you more surface area and leverage so you can index and rack the bolt without fighting for finger room. It is also a real help when charging the rifle with gloves on.
