If you run a Glock 19 Gen4 and want laser sighting without adding external bulk to your setup, the LaserMax LMSG419 slides straight into the factory guide rod location and gives you a bright, effective aiming tool. What makes this design different from clip-on lasers or rail mounts is the completely internal placement. You get all the benefit of a laser sight without any extra parts hanging off your slide or frame, which means it works with pretty much any holster you already own and keeps your gun looking stock.
Since the laser lives inside the guide rod assembly, nothing changes about how your pistol handles or feels in your hand. The pulsating red beam operates close to the bore axis, which is the whole point of internal laser design. The laser comes factory-aligned for center-of-mass accuracy at 10 yards and should fall within 1.5 inches out of the box. You're looking at an effective range of about 50 meters, with a dot size of 0.63 inches at 20 yards. For close-quarters work and everyday carry contexts, that's solid performance.
The assembly swaps out in about 20 minutes on your first go, and faster once you get the hang of it. All you need is the ability to field-strip your Glock, which means no special tools or gunsmith. Aircraft-grade aluminum construction keeps the weight down to just over half an ounce. The recoil spring inside is a genuine Wolff unit, and the ambidextrous on/off switch engages when you press the slide lock lever in from either side. Power comes from a single 393 battery, and the unit ships with a battery pre-installed and ready to run.
No. The LMSG419 installs without gunsmithing and requires no special tools. If you can field-strip your Glock 19 Gen4, you can install this laser guide rod. A first-time installation typically takes about 20 minutes, and subsequent battery replacements take less than a minute.
Yes. Since the laser is completely internal and replaces the factory guide rod, it doesn't add any external bulk to your pistol. Your gun maintains its stock profile, so standard Glock 19 Gen4 holsters will fit without modification.
The LMSG419 comes factory-aligned for point-of-aim/point-of-impact at 10 yards and is guaranteed to be within 1.5 inches out of the box. No sighting in is required, though individual firearms may vary slightly due to manufacturing tolerances.
The LMSG419 uses a single 393 battery, which comes pre-installed. Battery life varies depending on usage patterns and whether you run the laser constantly or use it intermittently. The pulsating beam design helps conserve battery power compared to a steady laser.
