The LaserMax LMS-1161 takes a different approach to adding a laser to compact Glocks. Instead of bolting something onto your frame or grips, this 5mW red laser integrates completely inside your pistol by replacing the factory recoil spring guide rod. That means your Glock 26, 27, or 33 looks exactly the same from the outside, works with any holster you own, and stays completely invisible when it's holstered.
Because the laser sits so close to the bore axis, positioning is perfect. You get center-of-mass accuracy at 20 yards right out of the box with no adjustment needed. The pulsating beam helps with target acquisition in varying light conditions, and the installation takes about 20 minutes for first-timers. The laser comes pre-aligned from the factory and won't drift, so there's nothing to zero in after you install it.
This isn't a fragile accessory bolted on top. The guide rod laser is constructed with aircraft-grade aluminum and genuine Wolff springs, meeting military specification durability standards. It handles drop tests, temperature extremes from 14 to 120 degrees, salt water, and deep water immersion without issue. The on/off switch uses your existing takedown lever with an ambidextrous design that works equally well for right or left-handed shooters.
The 5mW output provides good visibility indoors and at dusk, though it won't compete with direct sunlight. Battery life runs about one hour of continuous use, though the system includes an auto shutoff after 10 minutes of inactivity to preserve power when you're carrying. The laser uses four 319 button cells, which LaserMax provides pre-installed. For a concealed carry gun without accessory rails, this solves a real problem that many G26 and G27 owners face.

The laser comes factory-aligned for center-of-mass accuracy at 20 yards and is guaranteed within 1.5 inches at that distance for subcompact models. It's permanently aligned and won't drift out, so no re-zeroing is needed after battery changes or regular use.

The red laser will be harder to see in direct sunlight compared to indoors or low-light conditions. It works great for training, indoor ranges, and dusk-to-dawn carry situations. If you need maximum daylight visibility, a green laser would be the better choice, though it's not available for the Gen 1-3 G26/27/33.
