LaRue Tactical didn't dream up the A-PEG in a design meeting somewhere. They asked working precision shooters what they actually wanted out of a grip, then built it around the shape of a human hand instead of forcing your hand to adapt to the grip. What came out the other end is this Flat Dark Earth, coarse-texture A-PEG, sized for standard 5.56 receivers and ready to swap onto just about any AR-15 with an A2 grip interface.
Most AR grips just copy the old A2 shape with a little extra texture slapped on. The A-PEG takes a different approach. Flats molded into the front and back match up with the natural lines of your hand, and that flat front strap doubles as an index point that helps you square the rifle up to the target without thinking about it. Palm swells on both sides fill in the hollow of your hand rather than digging into it, and a slight taper pulls your grip in toward the receiver so it doesn't creep during recoil.
This particular version comes in a coarse, aggressive texture on the sides, which is the version most people gravitate toward if they shoot in the heat, wear gloves inconsistently, or just want one less thing to think about when their hands get damp. It's molded from glass-filled polymer, so it holds up to rough handling, temperature swings, and the kind of abuse that comes with regular range time or field use. The FDE tone is a close match to most FDE cerakote and anodized parts on the market, so it blends in cleanly on a two-tone or full FDE build.
Installation is as straightforward as any AR grip swap. It uses the same A2 footprint and grip screw as your factory grip, and mounting hardware ships with it so you're not digging through a parts bin. One thing worth knowing going in: the A-PEG sits at a slightly more vertical angle than a stock A2 grip, which most people adjust to after a range trip or two. Keep in mind this is the regular size built for 5.56 platform receivers, not the extended version made to fill the grip gap on AR-10 style rifles.

The grip ships with the mounting hardware needed to install it, so you don't need to source a separate grip screw or washer. Installation just involves removing your factory grip screw and threading in the new one through this grip.
