The Lantac SPADA-ML is the lightweight version of Lantac's popular Spada line, built for folks who want a slim, tough handguard that keeps their AR-15 nimble. It runs a 1.55" outer diameter and a 1.15" internal bore, so it hugs the barrel tight and gives you plenty of room to wrap your hand around it. This is the same style rail found on Lantac's own LA-SF15 rifle, which tells you something about how much they trust it.
Everything is machined from extruded 6005A-T6 aluminum and finished in Type 3 hardcoat anodizing, Class 2 deep black. That combination handles corrosion and years of hard use without looking beat up. Lightening cuts along the body trim the weight down further, which is where the ML earns the "lighter" in its name compared to the standard Spada-M that carries ambidextrous QD points. At 13.5 inches, this length is a favorite for mid-length gas setups and pinned-and-welded muzzle device builds where you want to shroud most of the barrel.
The patented anti-slip and anti-rotation system is the heart of this rail. It reinforces the receiver-end area and lets the clamp bite down hard on the barrel nut, so the handguard won't twist or walk under recoil. Once it's torqued down, the rail can't come off the barrel nut until the fixing screws are backed out completely. A nice bonus is that the barrel nut installs without any timing or fussy alignment, so getting the top rail dead level is straightforward.
You get a full-length Picatinny top rail at 12 o'clock for optics, backup irons, or a light mount, plus M-LOK slots machined into the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock faces for grips, lights, and bipods. Zero protrusion over the upper means it mounts cleanly to just about any upper receiver. All the necessary hardware and the barrel nut are included in the box, so you're ready to install once you've got your basic tools handy.
A 13.5-inch rail pairs nicely with mid-length gas systems, which are common on 16-inch barrels. It also gives you enough coverage to shroud a pinned-and-welded muzzle device on shorter barrels. Just confirm your gas block and barrel profile clear the 1.15-inch internal diameter before ordering.
Yes. The handguard ships with its proprietary barrel nut and all the hardware you need to mount it. You will still want the correct wrench and a torque setup to install it properly.
Lantac uses a patented anti-slip and anti-rotation system that reinforces the receiver end and clamps hard onto the barrel nut. Once torqued, the rail can't be removed until the fixing screws are backed all the way out. This keeps the top rail locked in and your zero consistent.
The SPADA-ML is the lighter version. It drops the ambidextrous QD mounting points found on the Spada-M to trim weight, while keeping the same slim profile, M-LOK slots, and full-length top rail. If you want the lightest option in the Spada lineup, the ML is the one.
