Description

The Beretta 1301 has earned its reputation as one of the fastest cycling semi auto shotguns you can buy, and Langdon Tactical took that platform and finished the job. This build starts with a 1301 Mod 2 featuring the Pro Lifter and semi flat trigger, then gets the full LTT treatment: an in house trigger job that smooths out the pull and lightens it slightly, the LTT Super Duty front sight, and a Magpul Zhukov forend modified by GG&G paired with an LTT heat shield over the 18.5 inch black oxide barrel. The result is a shotgun that runs the way most people wish their factory gun did after a year of tinkering.

Why the LTT 1301 Setup Works

The Magpul polymer stock gives you a solid, comfortable cheek weld and comes with a footman's loop for sling attachment, while the barrel clamp has QD sling points built right in. Up top, the included RMR footprint optic mount means you can drop on a red dot without hunting for aftermarket parts, and the receiver mounted shell carrier keeps spare rounds where your support hand can reach them. Beretta's 7 round magazine tube brings total capacity to 7+1, which is right where you want a defensive shotgun to be.

Feeding and Chokes on the Langdon Tactical 1301

The 3 inch chamber handles everything from light target loads to full power buckshot and slugs, and the BLINK gas system keeps cycling fast and recoil manageable. The barrel is threaded for Beretta's Optima choke system, so you can pattern your preferred defensive load and adjust as needed rather than being stuck with a fixed constriction.

A Turnkey Beretta 1301 Build

Piecing together this same setup yourself means ordering parts from four different companies and hoping everything fits. Here it all shows up assembled, tuned, and packed in a Condition 1 hard sided case. For home defense, patrol style use, or shotgun classes where you will burn through a few hundred rounds in a weekend, this one is set up to go to work on day one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Langdon Tactical 1301 different from a factory Beretta 1301?

Langdon starts with a Beretta 1301 Mod 2 that already has the Pro Lifter and semi flat trigger, then adds their in house trigger job, the LTT Super Duty front sight, a GG&G modified Magpul Zhukov forend with heat shield, a Magpul stock, an RMR optic mount, and a shell carrier. It is basically the fully built version of the gun most 1301 owners end up creating piece by piece, except it is assembled and tuned before it ships.

Can I mount a red dot on the LTT Beretta 1301?

Yes, this build includes an RMR footprint optic mount, so any red dot using the Trijicon RMR pattern will bolt right on. That covers a lot of popular options, including the RMR itself, the SRO, and Holosun models like the 507C. No extra plates or gunsmithing needed.

Does the Langdon Tactical 1301 accept choke tubes?

It does. The 18.5 inch barrel is threaded for Beretta's Optima choke system, and it ships with a Cylinder/Improved Cylinder choke installed. That gives you the flexibility to pattern different buckshot loads and swap constrictions to tighten things up if your preferred ammo needs it.

Will the LTT 1301 cycle low recoil buckshot reliably?

The 1301's BLINK gas system is known for being one of the fastest and most reliable cycling actions in the semi auto shotgun world, and it runs low recoil defensive loads well. The 3 inch chamber also handles full power buckshot and slugs without complaint. As with any gas gun, it is smart to test your chosen defensive load before relying on it, but this platform has an excellent track record.
