Description
Ernest Langdon and his crew have built their reputation on taking great Beretta platforms and making them better, and this 1301 Patrol is a prime example. It starts with the Gen 3 Beretta 1301, which already brings the lightning-fast Blink gas system, the Pro Lifter that keeps the loading gate out of the way of your thumb, and a full-length factory 7+1 magazine tube. From there, LTT performs their in-house trigger job on the semi-flat trigger, smoothing the pull and lightening it just enough to notice when you are running the gun fast.
What Sets the LTT 1301 Patrol Apart
The hardware upgrades on this build are the kind that come from people who train with shotguns for a living. The LTT Fastback mount puts an RMR-footprint red dot low and as far back on the receiver as possible, keeping the ejection port clear for over-the-top emergency loads, and it includes a co-witnessed rear notch sight. Up front, the steel Super Duty sight gives a cleaner sight picture than the factory blade and features a slug notch for precise aiming. The barrel wears an LTT heat shield with a built-in cable management system, so routing a light switch is clean and snag-free. Enhanced controls round it out, with an oversized charging handle and bolt release that are easy to run under stress.
Tungsten Gray Cerakote and Magpul Furniture
The 18.7 inch smoothbore barrel and receiver are finished in Tungsten Gray Cerakote, which looks sharp and adds real corrosion and wear resistance. A Magpul SGA-style stock gives you a comfortable, adjustable fit, and the barrel is threaded for Beretta's Optima choke system so you can tune your pattern for buckshot or slugs. QD sling points are built into the barrel clamp.
As a home defense gun, patrol gun, or shotgun class companion, this is about as complete a package as you will find out of the box. Mount your dot, pattern your load, and it is ready to work.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Langdon Tactical change from a standard Beretta 1301 Patrol?
LTT performs their trigger job on the factory semi-flat trigger to smooth and lighten the pull, then adds the Fastback RMR optic mount with co-witnessed rear sight, the steel Super Duty front sight, a heat shield with cable management, a Magpul stock, and enhanced controls. The core Beretta action, Blink gas system, and barrel stay factory, which is exactly what you want since that is where the 1301's reliability comes from. The whole gun is finished in Tungsten Gray Cerakote.
Can I mount a red dot on the LTT 1301 Patrol?
Yes, that is one of the main draws of this build. The included LTT Fastback mount accepts RMR-footprint optics and sits the dot low and rearward on the receiver, keeping the ejection port clear for over-the-top loading. It also includes a windage-adjustable rear notch that co-witnesses with your dot as a backup.
Does the 7+1 capacity require a magazine tube extension?
No. The Gen 3 1301 platform comes from Beretta with a full-length factory magazine tube that holds seven 2.75 inch shells, so there is no aftermarket extension to work loose. It is one of the cleanest high-capacity setups on any defensive shotgun.
Will this shotgun cycle low-recoil buckshot reliably?
The 1301's Blink gas system is known for running a wide range of loads, including low-recoil buckshot and slugs, and it cycles noticeably faster than most semi-autos on the market. As with any defensive shotgun, pattern and function-test your chosen load before relying on it. The Optima choke threading also lets you fine-tune your buckshot pattern.
