The L7AWM Gen2 brings Lancer's proven hybrid design philosophy to the big bore world. This 20-rounder is purpose-built for AR-10 and SR-25 pattern rifles running .308 Winchester, 7.62 NATO, or 6.5 Creedmoor. Instead of relying on polymer alone, Lancer wraps hardened steel feed lips completely around the magazine body, solving one of polymer magazine's biggest weak points while keeping the whole package light.
The Gen2 revision introduced refined feed lip geometry that enhances round retention and consistency. Lancer also redesigned the floor plate and spring engagement to reduce free stack space, meaning your rounds stay where they belong even during tactical reloads or rough handling. Combined with the upgraded floorplate lock design, the Gen2 magazines maximize cartridge stack and feeding performance.
One of the standout features is the switchable drain lock. Marine environments or dusty training ranges don't have to be a headache anymore. Flip the lever one way to seal the floor plate tight, or the other way to open the drain ports for water removal or dust evacuation. This isn't a gimmick either, it actually works when you need it.
The translucent dark earth finish means you can see your round count from any angle without holding the magazine up to the light. Non-tilt follower and stainless steel spring work with those steel feed lips to keep rounds feeding smoothly and predictably. The aggressive surface texture on the body gives you a solid grip during magazine changes, and the removable baseplate makes field cleaning straightforward when you need it.
The L7AWM Gen2 is designed for SR-25 and DPMS AR-10 pattern rifles, as well as SIG 716, LMT, LM308, POF P308, and S&W M&P-10 platforms. It's not compatible with M14 pattern magazines or FAL-pattern rifles. Always verify your specific rifle matches one of the compatible patterns before purchasing to ensure proper fit.
The drain lock is located on the floor plate. Move the lever one way to seal it tight for normal use, or flip it the other way to open the drain channels built into the floor plate. This lets you quickly remove water or dust from the magazine in wet or sandy environments without disassembling the entire mag.
The translucent dark earth finish is made from the same proprietary impact and chemical resistant polymer as the opaque versions, tested from minus 40 to plus 180 degrees Fahrenheit. The translucency doesn't compromise durability, and the hardened steel feed lips and robust body construction handle extended field use without issue.
