The Defender is the holster LAG Tactical built its reputation on, and this version is molded specifically for the Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 in 9mm and .40. It ships with two sets of 1.5 inch belt loops, one for inside the waistband and one for outside, so the same holster covers your daily concealed carry and your weekend range trips. Swapping between the two takes just a few minutes and a screwdriver, which beats buying and breaking in two separate holsters.
The Kydex shell is CNC cut and hand finished, formed tight to the M2.0's frame so the pistol clicks in with solid passive retention and stays put. If you like your draw a little tighter or a little smoother, the tension screws let you dial it in exactly where you want it. The body-hugging design pulls the grip in close, so a mid size pistol like the M2.0 disappears under a t-shirt without obvious printing. A roughly 10 degree forward cant angles the grip for a natural strong side draw, and both the cant and ride height can be adjusted to match how you carry.
Comfort is where a lot of Kydex holsters fall apart after hour six, and it is where the Defender earns its keep. Yes. The 9mm and .40 S&W M&P M2.0 pistols share the same frame and slide dimensions, so this holster is molded to fit both. It is sized for the standard 4 inch and 4.25 inch barrel models.
The holster comes with two sets of 1.5 inch belt loops, one for inside the waistband and one for outside. Swapping them is a quick hardware change with a screwdriver, usually just a couple minutes of work. That makes it easy to run OWB at the range and switch back to IWB for daily carry.
It is. The Defender uses tension screws around the trigger guard area, so you can tighten or loosen the draw to your preference. The Kydex is molded to the M2.0, giving you a positive click when the pistol seats, and the ride height and cant are adjustable as well.
This standard Defender model is molded for a stock M2.0 without a light mounted, so a rail-mounted light will not fit the shell. Most slide-mounted red dots will clear since the holster secures around the trigger guard and frame, but LAG Tactical also offers dedicated optic-cut versions if you want a guaranteed fit. Suppressor-height sights may need extra clearance depending on setup.
