The Vector SDP Gen3 starts with a 5.5-inch chrome moly steel barrel finished in black nitride, threaded 1/2×28 RH right at the muzzle for suppressor or flash hider use. The overall length checks in at 15.35 inches, making it genuinely compact while still giving you enough barrel to get meaningful velocity out of 9mm. The heart of the Vector is its Super V Recoil Mitigation System, a closed-bolt delayed blowback design that redirects bolt energy downward through internal channels running perpendicular to the bore rather than straight back. The Vector SDP Gen3 is designed to accept full-size factory Glock magazines, Gen 3 or newer. In 9mm, that means it runs on Glock 17-pattern magazines. The included 40-round magazine is a KRISS MagEx2, which is built on a standard Glock 17 body with a KRISS extension. Compact and subcompact Glock mags are not compatible due to the magwell geometry.

The first time can feel a little unfamiliar because the internals are unlike anything in a conventional pistol. The main thing to stay on top of is keeping the bolt area and ejector clear of carbon buildup, which the unconventional operating system can accumulate faster than a standard pistol.
The standard SDP, like this Gen3 model, is the more compact configuration with a handguard that does not extend past the barrel. The SDP Enhanced features a longer handguard that wraps around and past the muzzle, giving more room for accessories and a different grip feel. Both share the same Super V system, Glock magazine compatibility, and core Gen3 updates, so the choice mainly comes down to how you plan to set it up.
