There's nothing else on the range that runs quite like a Vector. The CRB Gen 3 in 45 ACP is built around KRISS's Super V Recoil Mitigation System, a closed bolt, delayed blowback design that sends the bolt energy down and behind the magazine well instead of straight back into your shoulder. The result is a big bore carbine with noticeably less muzzle rise than you'd expect from anything throwing 230 grain slugs. Pair that with a bore axis that sits low in the frame and follow-up shots come fast and flat.
The Gen 3 update gave the platform a real refresh. The upper housing sits lower in profile, the lower gets reshaped contours and improved texturing around the mag well, and the old shroud has been replaced with an M-LOK Gen 3 square shroud carrying five slots per side and six on the bottom for lights, hand stops, or whatever else you run. Up top there's a full length Picatinny rail with flip-up front and rear sights installed, and the 16 inch 4140 chrome moly barrel wears a black nitride finish with .578×28 threading, so it's ready for a muzzle device or suppressor. Controls are ambidextrous, including the short throw safety and reversible mag release, and the whole gun comes apart with four pins and no tools.
Magazine compatibility is one of the best parts of owning a Vector. This one feeds from full size Glock 21 pattern mags, so spares are affordable and easy to find, and one 30 round magazine comes in the box. The folding, telescoping stock collapses the carbine to a compact 34.9 inches and stretches to 36.9 fully extended, which makes it a breeze to stash in a range bag or truck case.
At 7.7 pounds with a skeletonized single stage trigger and an interchangeable AR15 style pistol grip, this thing is right at home in PCC competition, steel matches, or just burning through bulk 45 on a Saturday. It looks like nothing else, shoots like nothing else, and always draws a crowd at the firing line.
It feeds from full size Glock 21 pattern magazines, and one 30-round mag ships with the gun. That's a huge plus since Glock pattern 45 mags are widely available and reasonably priced. Extended aftermarket mags built on the same pattern generally run fine as well.
Yes, and it's the Vector's signature trick. Instead of driving the bolt straight back like a standard blowback PCC, the Super V system redirects that energy downward behind the magazine well, which counters muzzle rise. Combined with the low bore axis, a 45 ACP carbine ends up feeling remarkably soft and flat shooting.
It is. The 16 inch barrel comes threaded .578×28, the standard pitch for 45 caliber muzzle devices and suppressors. The black nitride finish also holds up well to heavy round counts and cleaning.
Gen 3 brought a lower profile upper housing, a redesigned lower with better mag well texturing and ergonomics, an updated bolt release, and the new M-LOK square shroud with five slots per side and six on the bottom. You still get the full length Picatinny top rail, flip-up sights, ambidextrous controls, and four pin tool-less disassembly.
