There is nothing else on the range that runs like a Vector, and the CRB Gen3 in .45 ACP is the full carbine treatment of that one-of-a-kind design. The heart of it is the Super V Recoil Mitigation System, a closed bolt, delayed blowback setup that sends bolt energy down and away instead of straight back into your shoulder. Combine that with a bore axis that sits lower than just about anything else out there and you get a .45 that shoots soft and stays flat, which is exactly what you want when you are stacking fast follow-up shots at a PCC match or just burning through a fun afternoon at the range.
The Gen3 generation brought real upgrades over the older models. The upper and lower housings were reworked for better ergonomics, the trigger is a skeletonized single stage design with minimal pre-travel, and the safety lever is a short-throw ambidextrous unit. The stock folds to either side and telescopes for length of pull, bringing the whole package down to a compact footprint for the safe or a range bag. Up front, the new square shroud carries M-LOK slots on the sides and bottom for lights and hand stops, while a full-length Picatinny top rail handles optics. Flip-up adjustable sights come installed, so it is ready to shoot the day you bring it home. Feeding is handled by full-size Glock pattern magazines, and this one ships with a 30 round extended mag so you are set for long strings right out of the box.
The Arctic Delta Cerakote is a factory-applied pattern of angular, delta-inspired shapes in whites, pale grays, and slate tones. It looks sharp under range lights and breaks up the outline against snow and stone. Underneath it all is a 16 inch 4140 chrome moly barrel with a Black Nitride finish and .578×28 threading, so adding a muzzle device or suppressor down the road is simple. At 7.7 pounds it carries its weight low and balanced, right where the Vector platform likes it.
It feeds from full-size Glock pattern .45 ACP magazines, the same ones that fit a Glock 21. The carbine ships with one 30 round extended magazine, and standard 13 round Glock 21 mags will run in it as well. That makes spare mags easy to find and affordable.
It does, and it is what makes the Vector feel different from every other pistol caliber carbine. The bolt travels down and back through channels in the frame, redirecting recoil energy away from your shoulder, and the barrel sits below the fire control group for an extremely low bore axis. The result is very little muzzle rise, even with .45 ACP, so follow-up shots come quick.
