Gas vents out through Kicks' outward-angled diagonal ports, which acts like a brake to cut felt recoil and settle muzzle rise between shots. Kicks rates the design at up to a 25 percent reduction in felt recoil and around a 20 percent bump in pattern density, and it works well with both lead and non-toxic loads.
The internal geometry is a conical/parallel setup, which is the part that does the work on your shot string.
