Description

There's something fitting about learning to shoot on a rifle wearing the American flag. The Crickett CPR Old Glory from Keystone Sporting Arms takes the proven single shot Crickett action and drops it into a chassis-style synthetic stock patterned after full-size PRS rifles, so a new shooter gets the look and feel of serious precision gear in a package scaled for smaller frames. At around 3.6 pounds and 31 inches overall, it's light enough for a kid to handle without help but stout enough to hold steady on the bench.

What Makes the Crickett CPR Different

The heart of this rifle is its manual cocking bolt action. After loading a round, you pull the cocking knob at the rear of the bolt before the rifle can fire. That extra step is intentional. It slows a new shooter down, builds deliberate habits, and gives a parent or instructor a clear visual on the rifle's status. A rebounding firing pin with an automatic block adds another layer of insurance. The Gen 2 action also picks up an EZ Load feed ramp, which makes dropping a .22 LR round into the chamber noticeably easier for small fingers.

Built to Grow With the Shooter

The 16.125 inch blued bull barrel comes threaded from the factory with a muzzle brake, so adding a rimfire suppressor or other muzzle device down the road is simple. Up top, the included Crickettinny rail accepts Weaver or Picatinny rings for whatever optic you want to run. The stock features an adjustable cheek comb and an adjustable length of pull from 10 3/8 up to 11 7/8 inches using spacers, plus integrated rail sections on the buttstock and forend for a bipod, bag rider, or sling mount.

Old Glory Looks, Rimfire Fundamentals

One shot at a time is still the best way to learn marksmanship, and this little rifle makes every round count. Whether it's a first rifle, a trainer for junior precision matches, or a patriotic plinker for the whole family, the Crickett CPR Old Glory earns its spot in the safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Crickett CPR Old Glory come with a scope or bipod?

This particular model is the rifle-only version, so no optic or bipod ships in the box. It does include the Crickettinny scope rail, which accepts standard Weaver or Picatinny style rings, so mounting the rimfire scope of your choice takes just a few minutes. Keystone also sells a CPR package version with a 4×28 scope and bipod if you want a complete setup.

How does the manual cocking system work on the Crickett CPR?

After you chamber a round and close the bolt, the rifle will not fire until you deliberately pull the cocking knob at the rear of the bolt. This forces new shooters to slow down and treat every shot as a conscious decision, which is exactly why the Crickett has become such a popular first rifle. It also pairs with a rebounding firing pin and automatic block for added peace of mind.

Can I put a suppressor on the Crickett CPR's threaded barrel?

Yes, the 16.125 inch bull barrel is threaded at the muzzle and ships with a factory muzzle brake installed. Remove the brake and you can spin on a rimfire suppressor or another muzzle device. A suppressed single shot .22 makes a fantastic low-noise trainer for young ears.

Will the Crickett CPR fit an adult shooter or just kids?

It is built primarily as a youth and training rifle, with a length of pull that adjusts from 10 3/8 to 11 7/8 inches using spacers. That range fits most kids and smaller-framed adults well, though bigger adults will find it compact. Plenty of grown shooters still enjoy them off the bench for cheap, focused trigger time.
