The single-shot bolt action has to be manually cocked before each shot, so nothing happens until the shooter deliberately makes it happen, and the rebounding firing pin is automatically blocked to help prevent an unintentional discharge. What the Gen 2 Crickett Brings to the Table

The second generation models picked up some genuinely useful upgrades over the original. The EZ Loader feed ramp guides that little .22 LR round into the chamber without the fumbling that used to frustrate small fingers, and sling swivel studs come installed from the factory. You also get a scope mount base in the box, and the receiver is set up to accept Crickett scope mounts if peep sights ever stop being enough. Out of the box, the fixed front sight and adjustable rear peep are a great way to teach sight alignment fundamentals before glass enters the picture.
