Description

There aren't many handguns out there quite like the Chipmunk Hunter Pistol. Keystone Sporting Arms took the same manually cocked, single shot bolt action that made their youth rifles famous and packed it into a pistol frame built for adults. This version wears a blued 10.5 inch barrel over a camo laminate stock, and it's chambered in .22 WMR, which gives you noticeably more reach and thump than a standard .22 LR when you're after rabbits, squirrels, or garden raiders.

Why the Chipmunk .22 Mag Earns Its Keep

At 2.5 pounds and around 19 inches overall, this thing carries easy on a hike or rides in a pack without complaint. The bright fiber optic sights pick up fast in the field, and the trigger breaks around 3 pounds, which is lighter and cleaner than most factory rimfires. The bolt handle sits on the left side of the receiver, so right handed folks can keep a firing grip while they cycle it, and the metal cocking knob at the rear means the action only cocks when you're ready to shoot. That deliberate, one round at a time pace is a big part of the charm. Every shot counts, and it'll sharpen your fundamentals whether you're a new shooter or someone who's been at this for decades.

Built to Grow With You

The receiver comes drilled and tapped, so adding a scope or red dot is a quick job, and plenty of owners do exactly that for silhouette matches and longer small game shots. The muzzle is threaded too, which opens the door for a suppressor or other muzzle accessories down the road. The laminate stock shrugs off weather better than plain hardwood, and the blued barrel against that camo pattern just looks right in a squirrel woods.

The Chipmunk Hunter in the Real World

Owners consistently report tight groups off a rest and fit and finish that feels like it belongs on something pricier. It's an easy gun to shoot well, a fun one to pass around at the range, and a genuinely useful tool for pest control around the property. Simple, accurate, and different in the best way.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the action on the Chipmunk Hunter Pistol work?

It's a manually cocked, single shot bolt action. You load one round, close the bolt, then pull the metal cocking knob at the rear of the receiver when you're ready to fire. The bolt handle sits on the left side, which lets right handed folks work the action without breaking their grip.

Can I mount a scope or red dot on the Chipmunk .22 Mag pistol?

Yes. The receiver comes drilled and tapped from the factory, and a scope base with mounting screws is included in the box. Plenty of owners add a pistol scope or red dot to stretch its accuracy for silhouette shooting and small game work.

Is the barrel on this Chipmunk pistol threaded?

It is. Keystone includes a threaded muzzle as a standard feature on their Chipmunk pistol models, so you can add a suppressor or other muzzle device without any gunsmithing. Paired with the mild .22 WMR cartridge, it makes for a very pleasant setup.

What is the Chipmunk Hunter Pistol best suited for?

Small game hunting, pest control, and recreational target shooting are its bread and butter. The .22 WMR chambering carries more energy and flatter trajectory than .22 LR, which helps on rabbits, squirrels, and varmints at longer distances. At just 2.5 pounds, it's also an easy gun to keep in a pack or take along on the trail.
