Most bullpups make lefties choose between hot brass in the face or buying a different rifle. The KelTec RFB solved that problem outright. RFB stands for Rifle, Forward-ejecting Bullpup, and that forward ejection is the party trick here. A patented dual-extractor system grabs each spent case, lifts it into a chute above the barrel, and sends it out the front of the rifle. That makes this the first genuinely ambidextrous 7.62 NATO bullpup, with safety levers on both sides, an ambi magazine release, and an operating handle you can swap to either side.
The numbers are what sell people on this rifle. You get a full 18 inch chrome-lined barrel in a package that measures right around 26 inches overall, roughly a foot shorter than a conventional rifle with the same barrel length. That means real .308 velocity and reach without the awkward handling of a long gun. The short-stroke gas piston system is user adjustable, so you can dial it in for your preferred ammo or tune it down to soften recoil. At about 8 pounds it carries its weight close to the shoulder, which keeps it balanced and quick to point despite the heavy-hitting chambering.
The RFB feeds from standard metric FAL pattern magazines, which drop free cleanly and are plentiful and affordable. One 20 round mag ships in the box. Up front, the muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and wears KelTec's A2-style flash hider, so suppressors and other muzzle devices thread right on. A rigid Mil-Spec Picatinny rail runs up top for your optic of choice, since the rifle ships without sights.

The RFB18 feeds from standard metric FN/FAL pattern 20 round magazines, and one comes in the box. They drop free without needing to be rocked or tilted in, and since FAL mags are common and affordable, keeping spares on hand is easy. Aftermarket options like higher capacity FAL drums will run in it as well.
Yes, and that's one of its biggest selling points. The forward ejection system sends spent brass out a chute above the barrel instead of flinging it sideways, so nothing crosses your face from either shoulder. The safety levers are on both sides, the mag release is ambidextrous, and the charging handle can be swapped to either side.
No, it ships without iron sights. There's a rigid Mil-Spec Picatinny rail mounted directly to the barrel, so you'll want to add a red dot, LPVO, or magnified optic. Given the .308 chambering and the rifle's reach, a variable power optic is a popular pairing.
The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pitch for .30 caliber suppressors and muzzle devices, and it comes with an A2-style flash hider installed. The adjustable gas system is a big help here since you can turn the gas down when running suppressed to keep the action from being overdriven. Many owners report it runs great with a can once the gas is dialed in.
