KelTec has always done things their own way, and the PR-3AT is a perfect example of that. Introduced at SHOT Show 2026, this compact .380 ACP pistol ditches the traditional detachable magazine entirely in favor of a top-loading internal design. You feed it through the open action using the included 7-round stripper clips, or one round at a time if you prefer. It sounds unconventional because it is, but the payoff is a grip frame that measures just under an inch wide while still holding 13+1 rounds of .380 ACP. That combination is hard to match at this size.
The "PR" in PR-3AT stands for Pistol Rotating, which refers to the locked-breech rotating barrel system at the heart of this gun. As the pistol cycles, the barrel rotates to unlock, which redirects recoil energy and keeps the whole package feeling flatter and more controlled than you'd expect from a .380 pistol this light. At 9.66 ounces unloaded and 5.58 inches overall, this thing disappears in a pocket or IWB holster without any real effort.
Controls are kept deliberately minimal. There's no manual safety; the double-action trigger pull handles that duty. Sights are fixed, with a white front post and two-notch rear. The PR-3AT uses an internal top-loading design.
