KelTec took the dual magazine tube layout from their famous KSG, borrowed the fiber optic sighting setup from the KS7, and shrunk the whole thing down to .410 bore. The result is a bullpup pump gun that measures just 26.1 inches long with a full 18.5 inch barrel, weighs a feathery 5.4 pounds, and still keeps a proper 13 inch length of pull. For comparison, a traditional pump with the same barrel length runs close to 40 inches. That difference matters in hallways, vehicles, and anywhere else space gets tight.
The .410 bore is the real story here. Recoil is mild enough that new shooters, smaller-framed folks, and anyone who dreads the shove of a 12 gauge can run this gun fast and stay on target. And you are not giving up much in the firepower department. The 3 inch chamber handles everything from birdshot to buckshot and slugs, with capacity landing at 5+5+1 with 3 inch shells or a full 7+7+1 when you load 2.5 inch shells. That is up to 15 rounds on board, which is wild for a gun this size.
A selector lever behind the trigger guard lets you choose which tube feeds, so you can keep buckshot in one side and birdshot or less-lethal loads in the other, then switch on the fly. Ejection is straight down, which makes the gun genuinely ambidextrous. The tough polymer chassis shrugs off weather, the carry handle protects the bright fiber optic front sight, and the rail section up front gives you room for a light or vertical grip. KelTec also sells an optics rail kit that swaps in place of the carry handle if you would rather run a red dot.
The tan finish gives it a clean, distinctive look, and the whole package works equally well as a home defense gun, a trunk gun, or a pest control tool around the property. If you have been curious about bullpup shotguns but wanted something lighter and softer shooting, this is the one to handle.
It depends on shell length. With 3 inch magnum shells you get 5 in each tube plus one in the chamber for 11 total. Drop down to 2.5 inch shells and each tube holds 7, giving you a full 15 rounds on board. That dual tube setup is what makes this gun stand out from every other .410 pump.
Yes, and that is one of its biggest selling points. The .410 bore produces far less recoil than a 12 gauge, and at 5.4 pounds the gun is easy to hold up and swing. The 13 inch length of pull fits most builds well, so it works nicely as a family range gun or a home defense option for anyone who is recoil sensitive.
Out of the box it comes with a carry handle that protects a bright fiber optic front sight, which works well as is. If you want an optic, KelTec sells a Picatinny rail kit that replaces the carry handle and installs in a few minutes with the included hardware. There is also a rail section on the forend for a light or vertical grip.
It is. The gun ejects spent shells straight down rather than out the side, so it runs the same from either shoulder. The magazine selector lever behind the trigger guard is also reachable from both sides, making this one of the more genuinely ambidextrous pump shotguns available.
