The SCAR is a phenomenal rifle straight from the factory, but anyone who has run one knows the polymer rails leave a lot of accessory space on the table. Kinetic Development Group built the MREX MKII to fix exactly that. This 4.25 inch version is the mid-length option, extending 4.25 inches past the SCAR upper receiver, and it pairs beautifully with a SCAR 17 running a 13 inch barrel and an issued suppressor. It fits both the SCAR 16s and 17s platforms, and it ships in a hardcoat anodized black finish.
KDG took years of feedback from commercial and military users and baked it into this second-generation rail. M-LOK slots now run the full length of the extension, including new positions at the 2 and 10 o'clock spots that double as a shield near the gas block. The full-length Picatinny top rail from older designs is gone, swapped for M-LOK so you can mount lights, lasers, grips, and optics risers wherever you want them instead of where the rail dictates. There is even a drop M-LOK slot at 12 o'clock for cleaner laser and light placement.
Machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, this rail adds meaningful length and mounting surface with virtually no weight penalty. It runs slim in the hand, and a nice bonus is that once it's bolted to your barrel assembly it can stay put, so future configuration changes are far less of a headache. Installation involves pulling the barrel and using thread locker on the hardware, but users consistently report it going smoother than expected, and KDG's simplified MKII design uses less hardware than the original.

Yes, this handguard is designed to fit both the FN SCAR 16s and 17s platforms. The 4.25 inch length is especially well suited to a SCAR 17 running a 13 inch barrel, particularly when paired with an issued FNH suppressor. If you're running a 16 inch barrel and want maximum rail space, the 6.5 inch version may suit you better.
Installation requires removing the factory side and bottom rail sections and briefly pulling the barrel to seat everything correctly.
