The Kinetic Development Group Kinect M-LOK Single 3-Slot Picatinny Rail bridges the gap between M-LOK and Picatinny without the usual T-nut wrestling match. It's a compact adapter that machines a little chunk of 1913 rail directly onto your aluminum M-LOK handguard, giving you three slots of mounting real estate in a footprint that measures just 1.68 inches long. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a brown anodized finish, it stays lightweight at roughly 0.8 ounces so it disappears on the gun until you need it.
What sets this apart from a standard bolt-on rail is the Kinect deployment system. There are two spring-loaded wedges built into the base, and when you press the section down into the M-LOK slot, a pair of small trigger pins fire those wedges into place. The result is a tool-free mount you can install or strip off in about a second. The release plungers sit on each end next to the wedges, which also gives you a tactile way to confirm both sides are locked, handy in low light when you can't see what your hands are doing.
This is the ideal setup for gear you move around. Think weapon lights, lasers, a hand stop, or a vertical grip you only run for certain drills. It shines when you swap one accessory between multiple rifles or want to shed weight and snag points fast. The Kinect was built to Magpul's original M-LOK spec for metal rails running .080 to .125 inch thickness, so precision-machined aluminum handguards are where it performs best. Many polymer rails run thicker and fall outside that window, so KDG does not guarantee fit on polymer. Because the wedges are spring-loaded, this one is best kept to lights, optics accessories, and lighter-duty gear rather than heavy bipod loading on hard-recoiling rifles.
It uses two spring-loaded wedges hidden in the base. When you press the rail section down into the M-LOK slot, small trigger pins fire the wedges into place and lock it on. Pressing the release plungers on each end lets you pull it back off, so the whole install or removal takes about a second with no Allen wrench needed.

You can, but it isn't the best use for this one. Because the wedges are spring-loaded, heavy bipod loading or hard recoil can cause the system to disengage, which is why KDG steers heavier bipod use toward hard mounts and larger calibers away from it. It's a better match for lights, lasers, hand stops, and gear you swap often.
Anything situational or that you like to move around. Weapon lights, lasers, a vertical grip for certain drills, or a range accessory you attach and remove between rifles all pair well with it. Owners often use it to make a light or grip quickly detachable across multiple guns.
