This is a complete assembly, not just a shell. Inside you get the polymer A2 stock with its own storage compartment behind the trap door, an A2 rifle-length extension tube, the chrome silicon rifle buffer spring, the rifle buffer, an A2 spacer, and the assembly screw. Since it ships with the correct rifle-length buffer and spring, you avoid the common pitfall of trying to run carbine internals in an A2 tube. Those parts are longer for a reason, and mismatching them can let the bolt carrier slam the back of the tube. KAK took the thinking out of it by boxing the right combo together.

The A2 tube is rifle length, so it needs the rifle buffer and rifle spring that come in this kit. Running a shorter carbine buffer in an A2 tube without the proper spacer can let the bolt carrier hit the back of the tube.
